CD Projekt RED and Fantasy Flight Games have combined their talents to transform the highly rated Witcher into a board game.

Based on the video game series, which is itself based on a series of books, The Witcher Adventure game brings the popular franchise to the tabletop for the first time. It's also the first time The Witcher will be going mobile as well. "We are very excited to bring Adventure Game to Witcher and board game fans alike," The Witcher Adventure Game Executive Producer, Rafal Jaki said in a press release. "We have worked with Ignacy Trzewiczek, Fantasy Flight and Can Explode for a long time to make this an ideal entry for board game beginners, as well as a fun experience for people who know this genre and universe by heart."

The game will feature series protagonist Geralt of Rivia, along with more memorable members of the game's supporting cast, like Dandelion, roguish bard; Triss Merigold, cunning sorceress; and Yarpen Zigrin, dwarven warrior. The game puts players on a journey across the vast world of The Witcher, where they'll earn gold, hunt monsters, and interact with the characters they meet. The physical game will include "meticulously crafted figures of in-game characters, and specially created, superior quality dice by Q-Workshop" and both games will come with 280 cards and 30 monsters.

The physical version is available through specialty shops for $59.99. The PC and Mac version (developed by Can Explode) is available for $9.99, while the mobile version can be found on Android and iOS marketplaces for $5.99. It might not be The Witcher III, but fantasy fans should find plenty of hours to while away waiting for that game's release with this new take on the series.
