The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to appear on next-gen consoles and bring us an unrivaled role-playing game experience. Let's take a look at some of the things we'll see in Geralt of Rivia's next adventure.
A press release has gone out today, giving us more information about the upcoming game from Polish developer, CD Projekt RED. The game promises an excellent story and a sprawling world larger than we're used to seeing in RPGs, but how will CD Project RED deliver it?
"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt crowns the trilogy with the main narrative, revolving around Geralt’s search for his loved ones and his conflict with the Wild Hunt. As players travel through the game, they visit lands with their own unique atmosphere, communities and memorable characters. CD Projekt RED didn’t create an open world with a singular theme, but concentrated on delivering diversified and engaging environments, 30 times larger than those in The Witcher 2,” said Adam Badowski, head of CD Projekt RED studio.
The game will also show players how the world itself changes based on their actions. Plotlines are scattered throughout the game that help shape the landscape depending on Geralt's decisions and involvement. This amount on non-linear storytelling can turn The Witcher 3 into a deep, personal roleplaying experience that should last players a long time. In fact, both the main story and the peripheral quests are said to take 50 hours each to complete, making The Witcher 3 a game with 100 hours of content.
Shown below are some new screenshots of the Skellige archipelago and feature Geralt slaying monsters like it's his job -- which it is. There are also a bunch of shots of Geralt on top of horses, looking at breathtaking vistas. We can't wait to explore this huge world!
