With every new release comes a slew of people telling the developers what to change for next time on the game's forums, but rarely does a developer respond with something other than "thanks for your feedback!" Over on the Sims 4 forums, an interesting little nugget has emerged from the mouth of Sims producer Grant Rodiek.

Responding to a list of requests for The Sims 5 from a fan, Rodiek (who posts on the forum under the name SimGuruGrant) posted the following: "We're not working on Sims 5. We're not thinking about Sims 5. If Sims 4 isn't successful, there won't be a Sims 5."

That's an interesting thing to say about one of EA's most popular franchises. One would think that the company would make Sims games until the end of time, but like every other franchise a lack of sales seems to mean a lack of Sims. However, does anyone really think that the Sims won't be successful?

The series has legions of fans that snap up every version and expansion as soon as they launch, and at some point The Sims 4 will follow suit. We think Rodiek might have been speaking out of frustration in that post... but you never know.
