The new trailer for The Showdown Effect is titled "Le Ballet of Death" and shows us some of the brutal, over-the-top action we can expect from this frenzied multiplayer brawler.

You won't find much in the way of words or even an explanation for what's going on in this video, but words can be overrated, especially when all you need is a bit of cartoony violence in slow-motion set to "The Blue Danube Waltz" by Johann Strauss II.

We're not physicists or anything, but we're positive that no one can jump that high while wielding a minigun, but we defer to Paradox's expertise when it comes to all things action.

If this trailer piques your interest in the game and has you clamoring to play it, you can head down to the official site's pre-order page and lock in your copy now.

There are two versions up for grabs: The Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition.

The Standard Edition comes with just the base game for $9.99. The Deluxe Edition, however, comes with a bonus playable character named Mizu Ichiban, two cosmetic wearable sets in the form of a Magicka Robe and Knight's Armor, two weapon skins that give you a hand crossbow and a golden axe, the official downloadable soundtrack, a permanent +3% experience boost, a giftable copy of Magicka, and early access to the game before its March 5th, 2013 release. This Deluxe package will cost you $19.99.

And to sweeten the deal, both editions come with pre-order bonuses in the form of a playable character named Hank Stream, a weapon skin for the Fusion Sabre of Light, and guaranteed free beta access, though that last one is kind of a moot point at this stage.

Watch the trailer below and let us know if you're going to be tossing yourself into this crazy showdown!
