The Last of Us VGA Trailer Drips With Story Elements

The newest trailer for The Last of Us shows a lot more than brief bits of Joel, Ellie, and the handful of bad guys that we've seen in previous videos.

The trailer gives us substantially more narrative details about the game, including a look at how people are surviving in this post-apocalyptic world. There's horseback riding, demented plant people, and a general stinginess that hangs around the air, which is understandable because it's, you know ... the end of the world and all.

A release date of May 7, 2013 appears at the end of the video, meaning that we've got about half a year to wait until we can step in Joel's shoes and see what the big hubbub concerning Ellie is.
