Prepare yourselves, because more details about the upcoming film based on The Last of Us have surfaced, this time courtesy of creator Neil Druckmann.

IGN spoke to Druckmann after the BAFTA Game Awards 2014. With regard to the film, Druckmann said, "It’s an adaptation of the story of The Last of Us. As far as where we go and how we make it fit into a film, how it takes into account the unique properties of film... We’re not sure yet. We’re only just scratching the surface."

As it is, The Last of Us already feels very cinematic and the writing is on par with the best that Hollywood has to offer. To learn that the film will be adapted from the game and not just an original story set in the Cordyceps apocalypse should make a lot of fans glad. Of course, this just makes us wonder who will star in this film and whether the original actors will reprise their roles.

According to IGN, voice actor Troy Baker, the voice of Joel, said he would be interested in reprising his role if he was asked. We'll update you on the film as more information trickles out.
