Two legendary super sleuths team up in The Great Ace Attorney.

The Meiji Era's judicial system meets the greatest detective who ever lived in this ancient predecessor to the Phoenix Wright: The Ace Attorney series. According to Gematsu, protagonist Ryuunosuke Naruhodou, his assistant Susato Mikotoba, Sherlock Holmes and Iris Watson are in for some intellectual adventures together.

Ryuunosokue (whose name might be changed when The Great Ace Attorney gets a western release) is an Imperial Yuumei University student who has ventured to the British Empire to learn more about justice. Sasato is Ryuunosuke's legal assistant who loves foreign detective novels and has accompanied her partner to learn about the western styles of justice. Sherlock Holmes obviously needs no introduction, but the eight-year-old prodigy, Iris Watson certainly does. She is actually the author of 'The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes,' based on her observations of Sherlock. Surprisingly, Iris' powers of deduction and reasoning are rumored to surpass even Sherlock's.

The Great Ace Attorney is due for a 2015 release in Japan exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS. Capcom is expected to unveil a new trailer on Sept. 18 at the Tokyo Game Show. We hope this is one caper that hits international waters and gets the west involved.

You know Phoenix Wright's ancestor and Sherlock Holmes can debunk some of these great gaming myths:
