TERA: Rising Flies Over the One Million Player Mark and Celebrates With Giant Monsters

TERA: Rising

It’s always nice to see a massively-multiplayer online role-playing game make it big in the free-to-play world after seeing that their subscription models weren’t working. The latest game to get back on its feet is En Masse Entertainment’s TERA: Rising.

A press release from En Masse today reveals that the free-to-play version of TERA has garnered over 1.4 million users since its launch in February. There are now more players than ever in the game, battling monsters and collecting items, all thanks to the decision to go free-to-play.

To celebrate hitting the 1 million mark, En Masse is holding an event called Dracoloths Rising, which, according to the release, will have players, “hunt big-ass monsters for special drops and prizes.” This event will take place from March 20th, 2013 to March 24th, 2013.

Along with the free-to-play model, En Masse cites the number of new features, like the high-level Crucible of Flame dungeon, the Champions’ Skyring 3v3 PvP battle arena, and new servers as key elements in bringing about the success of TERA: Rising.

Chris Lee, CEO of En Masse Entertainment said, “It’s always great to eclipse the one-million-player mark, and at our current rate, it won’t be long before we hit two million. This success is pushing En Masse even harder to deliver more content and improve our service, so stay tuned!”
