We were psyched to report last month that developer True Axis was working on a brand new skatepark for an upcoming update to their great finger skateboarding title True Skate. Ever since we downloaded it this past fall, True Skate has had a permanent place on our iOS homepage. It's always good for a quick ollie fix or some in-depth ramp action. Naturally, we are pretty psyched to discover that it won't be long before we have some more content to grind our way through.

Skateboarding games have always been fiddly when they’ve ollied over onto the touchscreen. They never look too good and the controls are less functional than a broken wrist. One game promises to launch itself ahead of the others and skate up and out of the quarterpipe of mediocrity. But, does True Skate live up to its name and bring a bit of truth to the world of virtual skateboarding?

Everyone hates those darn skateboarders with their Rob Roskopp decks, wild earrings, punk rock mohawks and jean jackets with Misfits patches on the back. Why can't they take up a nice sport, like checkers? Looks like those hooligans aren't going away anytime soon, so we may as well see what all the fuss is about with True Skate, a new skateboarding app for iOS.
