SimCity hasn’t had the best launch in the world. Though issues have been clearing up in the past few days, the initial launch period plagued users with dropped connections and infinite loading times. It’s just a sad side-effect of an always-online game. However, new information reveals that this could have all been avoided since the online components of SimCity aren’t even necessary!

Lucy Bradshaw, head of Maxis, took control of SimCity's official Twitter handle to answer some burning questions from the gaming community.

It seemed like you couldn't go on any videogame news site every day this week without seeing something about SimCity and its launch troubles. Maxis and EA have taken steps to improve their customers' experiences and fix the issues plaguing the game's debut, but today Lucy Bradshaw, head of Maxis, will answer fan questions on Twitter regarding the game and its current state.

In an attempt to ease the pain of SimCity owners who have experienced server issues with their game, Electronic Arts and Maxis are offering them a free PC download from the EA archive on March 18th.

SimCity isn't having the smoothest of launches, which is to be expected from an online game, but EA Origin still wants to allay the fears of international Sims fans.

Pre-ordering the next SimCity will grant you the bonus "Heroes and Villains" add-on, which should add some excitement to your developing burg.
