Mario and friends have done it again. Nintendo has proclaimed that Super Smash Bros. is the 10th Nintendo 3DS game to sell 1 million units.

While it's no surprise to fans that have been with Nintendo since the beginning that one of its most loved games would be a best seller, Nintendo seems to be nothing if not overjoyed. For a game that came out exclusively for the 3DS, Super Smash Bros' feat is nothing to be overlooked. While the game was conveniently released close to the upcoming holiday months, it is still quite astounding that it has reached 1.2 million units sold in just over a month since launch. Nintendo's only worry seems to be that the game will be topped by its equally popular Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire which will arrive later this month on Nov. 21, 2014.

After reporting that Super Smash Bros. is the best selling hand-held game in 2014, Nintendo said that Wii U sales are still strong. Not only have hardware and software sales increased 47 and 84 percent, respectively, compared to 2013, but they are only expected to keep rising with the release of more Nintendo titles further into the year.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will be released on Nov. 21, 2014.

You wanna get hype? Well, the Meets Metal version of the Smash main theme should do it.
