The world's first handheld to run the Steam OS has been announced at E3 2014.

As Steam Machines are going to be the gaming consoles meant to play Steam titles on your big screen, the Steamboy intends to do something similar for gamers on the go. The Steamboy will run the Steam OS in a portable manner. Based on its pictures, it will feature the same two trackpads that the Steam controller will have.

“I think people will get shocked by Steamboy potential and possibilities,” said SteamBoy Machine Team. ”SteamBoy is the first device that allows to play Steam games on the go, you will keep playing your favourite games at the bus, the office, the school or the doctor's waiting room.”

Like Steam's official controller, the Steamboy will feature two trackpads, eight face buttons, four trigger buttons, two back buttons and will be able to play a majority of the Steam library. While no launch window, pricing or specs have yet to be announced, we have a feeling the Steamboy will be an impressive piece of hardware.

Please note that the Steamboy is a third party handheld and is not being developed or formally endorsed by Valve Corporation.
