The stellar spin-off to Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag has made its debut as a standalone title.
Taking place a few years after Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Freedom Cry has you controlling Edward Kenway's first mate, Adewale.
Adewale was a slave who was liberated and eventually found his way onto Kenway's crew. Throughout the years, you find out that Adewale has learned the tricks of the trade when it comes to hidden blades. Freedom Cry has Adewale trying to put a stop to the slave trade that was going on in the West Indies.
According to the PlayStation Blog, Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry is now available for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 without the former requirement of owning Black Flag. It is currently priced at $14.99.
