Square Enix has kicked off its Online Back to School Sale on its official website, which means many Final Fantasy, Tomb Raider and Hitman titles will be getting discounted.

Update: Chrono Cross and Star Ocean: First Departure have sold out.

Thanks to Destructoid, we have learned about Square Enix's Online Back to School Sale, which is going to give a basic discount to select titles along with an overall discount added based on how many more games you buy. Mind you, many of these titles' base prices are pretty bad to begin with, but once you start factoring in the stacking discounts, they're much more reasonable. The first title you buy has 20 percent off, adding a second would bring it both games to 30 percent off and you get 50 percent off each title if you buy three or more games.

For example, one title is at $23.99, already down from its $29.99 usual price. Buying five similarly-priced games totals out to $74.95, which means that their prices have dropped from $23.99 to $14.99 by buying them as a group.

There are some classics in this bunch we weren't expecting. The gem of the group would be Chrono Cross, the sequel to Chrono Trigger, for $11.99, down from $14.99, which can drop even lower. Other noteworthy titles include Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions for $7.99 on PSP, Star Ocean: First Departure for $15.99 on PSP, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix for $15.99 on PS3, Final Fantasy X / X2 HD Limited Edition for $23.99 on PS3 and Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on PS4/Xbox One for $39.99. Thief for PS4/Xbox One is also priced at $39.99 as well. At max discount, Thief and Tomb Raider: Definitive drop down to $24.99, which are absolute steals.
