Square announced a high-definition remake of Final Fantasy 10 back in 2011, but we've all been waiting for a glimpse at the game since.

Curiously enough, our first real look at FF10 HD was given last night by Sony during its Vita-centric video conference. There, Square showed off a bit of footage from the remaster running on the Vita.

There isn't a whole lot to get excited about, as the brief video doesn't even show any action. You can see Tidus and Yuna hanging out, as the camera pans in and out around their standing bodies. Not super impressive, we know, but it is progress.

And considering Final Fantasy 10 is one of the best PlayStation 2 games of all time, getting an HD remake is sure to make a lot of fans incredibly happy, even if the release is still quite some time away.

Now if only Square would wise up, and get cracking on an HD Final Fantasy 7.
