Sony Ends Relationship With PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale Developer

On Monday, Sony announced their working agreement with SuperBot Entertainment would come to an end.

According to Kotaku, Sony will handle any further content developed for PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale. "We have had a positive working relationship with this talented studio, and wish them the best of success in their next endeavor," a Sony rep said in a released statement. "PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale and the title's forthcoming DLC releases will continue to be fully supported by the Santa Monica Studio."

While at first the news appeared dire, as SuperBot had recently gone through some downsizing, the developer's president David Yang said the studio was going to stay alive. "SuperBot Entertainment will continue working on projects that reflect our passion for games and our commitment to creating award winning titles," Yang stated.  "We are very excited about beginning the next chapter of our future and invite all of our fans and supporters to follow our journey."

Whether or not SuperBot will actually make it through this situation remains to be seen, but for now it appears the company will be reassessing its future in the gaming space.
