The blood will continue to flow in the arena thanks to the "Duel of Fates" downloadable content pack for Ryse: Son of Rome.

According to the Xbox Wire, three new maps are coming your way in the "Duel of Fates" DLC package, featuring two arena mode, round-to-round maps called Invictus and Barbarous. A survival map called Island will also be included in the pack. If you're more into aesthetics, you'll be glad to know you can get your hands on gladiator skins based on Glott the barbarian chief and Marius Titus, Ryse's protagonist.

The Invictus map is loosely based on the Servile Wars while the Barbarous map is based on the barbarian invasions in Rome's history. These multi-tiered maps are described as "Roman Holodecks" by Microsoft Senior Producer Justin Robey. He said, "We tell stories with our maps."

Island is interesting because it starts off matches with gladiators already bleeding. This survival mode tasks players with defeating hordes of endless enemies, using only executions to help recover health. Oh, and arrows are always raining down from the sky. Have fun with that.

The Duel of Fates DLC is now available for $8.99. If you got the Season Pass for $19.99, you can just download the DLC at no additional cost.
