We know that Assassin’s Creed IV is going to be subtitled Black Flag. So what the heck is this Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix that we have started to hear about?

The title was first leaked about a week ago, when a supposed piece of internal Ubisoft artwork was posted to the internet. Now, the title is showing up again on the Spanish game retailer website XtraLife.es. Eurogamer noticed the posting, which pegs the game as a PlayStation Vita title. It also gives us a release date of 10/10/2013, a few weeks before Assassin’s Creed IV is pegged for release.

Ubisoft has not commented on the listing, which has since been taken down. It wouldn’t be too peculiar for Assassin’s Creed IV to come out with a companion Vita title, as Assassin’s Creed III did with Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation.

In addition to this retailer leak, AGB, the site that leaked the first Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix image, has posted yet another piece of Ubisoft internal artwork. This one shows a futuristic setting rendered in what appears to be in-game graphics. In addition, the image’s aspect ratio matches up with screenshots from PlayStation Vita games.

The Mystery of Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix gets more and more mysterious as evidence continues to crop up. Perhaps Ubisoft will have more information for us when they show off their new games at PAX East and E3 this year.
