At the Xbox Gamescom 2014 press conference, Xbox VP Phil Harrison announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider, the next installment in the rebooted Lara Croft saga, will be an Xbox exclusive when it launches in Holiday 2015.

His choice of wording "Xbox exclusive" leads us to believe that it will be launching both on Xbox One and Xbox 360 instead of just the new console, but we have yet to receive any confirmation on that.

If you recall, Square Enix actually claimed the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot didn't meet sales expectations, despite being the best-selling Tomb Raider game to date. In 2014, the game was remastered for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with updated graphics and presentation. It's a shame PlayStation owners will miss out on the sequel, but at least they still have Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris to look forward to, right?
