This E3 2015 preview trailer for Rise of the Tomb Raider features Lady Croft scaling a snowy mountainside in the hopes of finding something shiny.

Xbox's E3 preview cinematic for Rise of the Tomb Raider is meant to remind us why Lara Croft is willing to charge headfirst into death-defying scenarios. This trailer recalls famous explorers of the past, such as the aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart, to remind us of some of Lara Croft's inspirations. The video starts off with Lara climbing the frigid side of a mountain in the midst of a blizzard. After Lara survives an avalanche (thanks to her two climbing axes), she reaches the summit of the mountain. At the mountaintop, Lara finds the doorway to what is presumably an ancient tomb that she's going to explore. Since this is simply the preview trailer for Rise's presence at E3 2015, we have a feeling the full-fledged trailer (which will air either during Xbox or Square Enix's presentations) will explore what's actually inside the tomb. Hopefully, Xbox's E3 presentation will showoff some gameplay this time around.

The sequel to the awesome 2013 Tomb Raider reboot will put tomb exploration and puzzle-solving gameplay in the spotlight. This is meant to help cater to fans of the original PS-One Tomb Raider series. Rise of the Tomb Raider will still obviously have tons of action, but it will shift gears to focus on surviving in the wild, exploration, tomb investigation and puzzle solving.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is set for a holiday 2015 launch for Xbox One and Xbox 360. Due to a timed exclusivity deal with Xbox, we have a feeling Lara Croft's next adventure won't hit the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC until well into 2016.
