Ryan Payton, the former creative director of Halo 4 and producer of Metal Gear Solid 4, is back to bring an optimized version of his mobile stealth game over to PC.

The Seattle-based indie team at Camouflaj has announced that Republique Remastered will be hitting PC in just a few weeks via GOG, the Humble Store and Steam. Camouflaj's founder, Ryan Payton, is no stranger to espionage titles, and this is easily seen in the stealthy mechanics of Republique, which originally launched in Dec. 2013 on the iOS format. More than a year later, Republique has been fully optimized for its PC debut, being rebuilt from the ground-up using the Unity 5 engine. Republique Remastered includes all three of its main episodes along with some new features that the mobile versions don't have.

“Ever since we committed to doing a desktop version of République, we’ve been haunted by the task for delivering something truly special for PC players,” Payton said. “When we got a glimpse at the next iteration of Unity we realized that this was the answer — beyond redesigning the game’s controls and UI for desktop, we’ve completely gutted all the game’s art, rebuilding everything using Unity 5’s cutting-edge graphical features. The result is something you have to see to believe."

Republique Remastered features voice acting from the likes of Jennifer "FemShep" Hale, David "Snake? Snake! Snaaaaaaake!?" Hayter , Rena Strober, Khary Payton and Dwight Schutlz. This optimized version of Republique will debut on PC and Mac via Humble Store, GOG and Steam on Feb. 26. The standard version of the game will cost $24.00 and includes a pre-purchase of Republique's fourth and fifth episodes, respectively called 'God's Acre' and 'Terminus'. The deluxe version of the game, which costs $34.99, comes with a 2-hour-long documentary and its soundtrack. During its first week of launch, the standard and deluxe editions will both have a 20 percent discount.
