The creators of Heavy Rain and the upcoming Beyond: Two Souls are hard at work on another new game for the upcoming PlayStation 4. Will it be a quick time event extravaganza? We're not so sure.

Quantic Dream is a developer with ambition. Heavy Rain knocked storytelling and graphics on the PS3 out of the ballpark. Their standards for out of the box gameplay and graphical fidelity are out of this world and hopefully Beyond: Two Souls will be another feather in their cap.

But, the developer has also set their sights on the future beyond the PS3. According to a recent interview with Eurogamer, they are already working on a game for the PS4.

Guillaume de Fondaumiere from Quantic Dream said, “For us, a new console is another reason to try and innovate. What is certain is that whatever we’re working on PS4 is not going to resemble what we’re doing on PS3.”

It is nice to know that they're not just thinking about fancy new shaders, lighting, and graphics, but how to implement them in a new and inventive way. Heavy Rain had some unique gameplay unlike any other game on the PS3. We're curious to see what Quantic Dream has in store for us on the next gen. Let's hope it isn't just a hyper-realistic old man that looks like Larry David.
