Radical Entertainment's open world Prototype games return in a surprise set of re-releases for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The Prototype Biohazard Bundle has made an out-of-nowhere launch for current-gen consoles. This bundle combos together the 2009 Prototype and its 2012 sequel, both of which feature InFamous' style of open world gameplay combined with unbelievable superpowers. Surprisingly, Activision made almost zero commotion about this release, which is surprising considering they usually shell out some kind of advertising for its titles, especially when it comes to its current-gen re-releases and HD remasters.

These revamped versions of Prototype feature the usuals when it comes to current-gen re-releases: improved resolutions, higher frame rates and HD rendering. Surprisingly, the magical numbers of 1080p and 60fps were not included.

Here's what Activision had to say about the release:

Ever since the launch of the latest generation of consoles, fans have been asking us if we would be bringing Prototype to the PS4 and Xbox One. Well, I’m happy to deliver the answer: yes, and it happens today. Available as a digital download via the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Game Store, the Prototype Biohazard Bundle includes Prototype and Prototype 2, which have both been updated to feature Full HD rendering, improved framerate, and higher resolution textures and effects. What’s more, the bundle includes all of the DLC that came with the original RADNET Edition of Prototype 2, as well as a majority of the in-game content previously offered through retailer pre-orders.

The Prototype bundle is now available on the PSN and Xbox Store for $49.99.
