Phil Fish might have canceled Fez 2, but that doesn't mean that Polytron has given up on making games.

According to Joystiq, the Polytron team was blindsided by Phil Fish's announcement that he was canceling Fez 2 and leaving the industry on Twitter. Polytron producer Marie-Christine Bourdua said, "It was weird and special to learn it that way, but I respect and trust Phil a lot, so that's totally fair that he decided that and he has his reasons."

But all is not lost, since Polytron still has work to do, even if it's not on Fez 2. Bourdua said that ports of the original Fez will be making their way to Linux and Mac. In addition to the parts, she said that, "there's other stuff on the way, too" and that they are "working with Sony."

Whether this means that they're working on ports of Fez or a whole new IP for PlayStation consoles is unknown, but we'll update you as more information is made available.
