Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire's New Mega Evolutions and Prehistoric Pokemon

Nintendo/CoroCoro

Some news about the inclusion of Mega Evolutions and Prehistoric Pokemon in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have been revealed.

According to a post on Serebii.net, magazine scans from the recent issue of CoroCoro has revealed the new Mega Evolutions for Sceptile, Swampert and Diancie. Mega Sceptile, unlike its previous form, is a Grass/Dragon-type, Mega Swampert remains Water/Ground while Mega Diancie, the evolved form of the Mythical Pokemon Diance, also remains Rock/Fairy.

These Mega Evolutions will be made possible through an item called the Mega Bangle, which will reportedly work the same way as the Mega Ring from Pokemon X and Y. You just have to get the target Pokemon to hold the item and then you can trigger Mega Evolutions in battle.

Another interesting new feature is the inclusion of Prehistoric/Primal/Primeval Pokemon. According to Serebii's translations of the CoroCoro scans, a process called Ancient Devolution will send the legendary Pokemon Groudon and Kyogre back to their prehistoric forms in the middle of battle, the same way Mega Evolutions work.

Look forward to these new features and more when Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are released in Nov. 2014.
