Mega Slowbro makes his debut in this trailer, and he answers an important question that Pokemon fans have wondered since the first game: what if that Shellder on Slowbro's tail kept eating him? Mega Slowbro is a new hero in a half-shell, even though he looks like a Beyblade.
The official Pokemon page for Mega Slowbro says that "after Mega Evolving, its Shell Armor Ability means that opponents' attacks will never land a critical hit. In terms of stats, its previously high Defense jumps more, and its Sp. Attack also increases, making Mega Slowbro a great Pokémon for long, sticky battles that require endurance."
Gaining that shell has given Slowbro immunity to critical hits and higher physical defense, which competitive Pokemon players are reading as "our new stall tactic." We wonder how long Mega Slowbro will be around before the banhammer falls on him for being too stout.
Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire launch on Nov. 21 for Nintendo 3DS.
Mega Slowbro must've found that space weed.
