If the PS4 is continuously winning the current-gen console war, it only makes sense that its PlayStation Plus subscription-based service is extremely successful.

Sony executives have confirmed that the PlayStation Plus subscription service has reached 7.9 million members, GamesIndustry reports. In a post-earnings conference call with its overseas investors, Sony's executive board confirmed to the public that PlayStation Plus service is doing extremely well. Recently, Sony CEO Kaz Hirai said over half of the PS4's owners have signed up for the PlayStation Plus' premium subscription. Many attribute the PlayStation Plus' monthly game offerings, which include free titles to download across the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, for much of the service's success. The PlayStation Plus service offers free downloadable games, discounted prices, cloud storage for game save online multiplayer gameplay and more

Sony's executive board has also announced that it plans to launch PlayStation Plus service in the Chinese market, which recently saw the debut of the Xbox One.
