Bad news for Wii U owners, as it looks like the next Metal Gear adventure won't be made for Nintendo's latest console.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Metal Gear Rising: Revenegeance producer Yuji Korekado discussed the potential of the Raiden-centric slashfest making its way to the Wii U. Unfortunately, as Korekado disclosed, the odds of that happening are about as likely as Otacon not peeing his pants.

"We aren't currently thinking about that," Korekado said when asked if there was a chance Rising might see a release on the Wii U. "One of the strongest appeals of the Wii U is the GamePad. However, we've constructed Metal Gear Rising so you can fully enjoy the game on the controllers whether it's on the PS3 or the Xbox. So, currently we aren't thinking about Metal Gear Rising on the Wii U."

While it's not an out-and-out "never," the only time Metal Gear made the jump to a Nintendo console (save for the earliest entries), was 2004's Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes on the Gamecube. There has been three more entries released since then, so it doesn't bode well for the Wii U.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is slated to release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on Feb. 19, 2013.
