Early listings of pre-orders for Nintendo's little data-transferring figurines suggest they aren't going to burn holes in our pockets as bad as we thought they would.

IGN reports that the European video game retail site, ShopTo, recently listed pre-orders for a bunch of Nintendo's upcoming Amiibo figures. The website advertises each figure for a price of £12.85, which is equivalent to $21.87, which isn't that bad, but is few dollars more expensive than your average Disney Infinity or Skylanders figure. This is likely due to each Amiibo figure being usable for multiple games along with its capabilities for data-transfer on both the Wii U GamePad and the Nintendo 3DS without any type of portal-like accessory. The figures will mark the first time that game data can be swapped between the two Nintendo platforms interchangeably.

The Amiibo figures are due for release in the fourth quarter of 2014 and will support Mario Party 10, Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U when they debut. Hopefully, Nintendo will realize that it will likely have to produce a lot more Link figures than the rest.
