Nintendo Rides and Attractions Coming to Universal Theme Parks

Mario, Luigi and the rest of the Mushroom Kingdom head to Hollywood and Orlando in an epic partnership between Nintendo and Universal Parks & Resorts.

It's time to start saving your coins for a trip to Universal Studios, because the House of Mario is partnering up with Universal Parks & Resorts to make the world's first rides and attractions based on Nintendo's main franchises. We could be seeing theme park attractions based on Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Star Fox and Pokemon (let that sink in for a moment). While Nintendo and Universal did not reveal what particular attractions they have planned or when we can expect them to debut, we have a feeling we're in for something special.

"Nintendo and Universal Parks & Resorts today announced plans to bring the world of Nintendo to life at Universal theme parks – creating spectacular, dedicated experiences based on Nintendo’s wildly popular games, characters and worlds," a Nintendo representative said. "Universal theme parks offer incredibly popular, innovative themed family entertainment experiences based on compelling stories and characters – using powerful storytelling and innovative technology. Nintendo has created remarkable and imaginative worlds filled with captivating stories and beloved characters."

"Now, for the first time, those stories and characters will be brought to life in entirely new ways – only at Universal theme parks."

Could you imagine going to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and seeing the Mushroom Kingdom or Hyrule in the same day? It would be amazing to enjoy a Star Fox or F-Zero-themed roller coaster with employees wearing giant Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Kirby and Mario costumes in front of the ride.
