Nintendo Trademark Suggests Remake of Pokemon Emerald
Nintendo 3DS Pokemon masters hoping for a Rayquaza are in for some luck.
Gematsu reports that Nintendo of Japan has trademarked the name "Delta Emerald." This hints that Nintendo could be remaking Pokemon Emerald, which was the original, pseudo-remake of Pokemon Ruby and Alpha. If this trademark does lead to its suspected project, Pokemon Delta Emerald could be joining the likes of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire as Nintendo 3DS remakes of their GameBoy Advance counterparts.
Pokemon Emerald was released in 2005 for Game Boy Advance and came out two years after the original Ruby and Sapphire titles. It largely consisted of the overall plot, graphics, mechanics and roster made up from Ruby and Sapphire, while including a handful of Pokemon that were originally introduced in Pokemon Gold and Silver.
Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are slated for a simultaneous release this November exclusively for Nintendo 3DS. The Big N has yet to confirm the existence of Delta Emerald. Stay tuned as we will provide more coverage on Delta Emerald once more information is available.
