Nintendo gave fans a tease as to what's to come in the next The Legend of Zelda game which is scheduled to arrive on the Wii U in 2015.

Eiji Aonuma, the director of the next untitled Zelda adventure, revealed that the game will feature open world play. Aonuma talked about the vast world that is usually shown in Zelda games but because of limitations, players are unable to explore worlds beyond borders.

Fans can essentially explore wherever they want without constraints or limitations. Aonuma showed an example during the presentation in which he showed Link sitting on a horse, with a mountain range seen in the distance. Aonuma explained that if a user wanted to go and explore the mountains on the horizon, after traveling for a long time, a user could reach the mountains and look around.

We then see a preview of some footage where Link encounters a giant creature and uses a special bow and arrow to fend him off.

Expect to hear more about the Zelda game from Nintendo as we inch closer to 2015.
