The new video game releases for July 2013 are looking pretty threadbare. With The Last of Us rounding out the big blockbuster releases for awhile, we're left with a month where another Dynasty Warriors is the highlight. At least we'll be able to hack and slash our way through a torrent of baddies while we wait for the more juicy August releases. But Dynasty Warriors 8 isn't the only game to get tepidly excited about.

Shin Megami Tensi IV looks like it is shaping up to be a decent 3DS game and there are two collections that you should keep your eye on. The Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection is a sure fire way to catch up on Solid Snake before he makes a brand new appearance in the next gen. You can also snag a copy of the Serious Sam Collection if you prefer your shooters loud, brash, and fun.

Even if July is a bit sparse, you'll at least get a chance to sift through your backlog of games and catch up on any titles you've missed. Don't worry, there's sure to be one last hurrah for the current gen this fall.
