Despite being based on the newest Nickelodeon cartoon, Red Fly's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows has a much more realistic style.

Revealed earlier in March, TMNT: Out of the Shadows is a new XBLA and PSN game that will take place in the world of the new Nickelodeon cartoon. There will be four-player co-op play, and all four of the turtles will play slightly differently. IGN got an early look at alpha footage of the game in action, and even though it's just a few brief moments, Out of the Shadows is looking pretty promising.

It's been a while since there's been a competent new TMNT game, and hopefully Red Fly is up to challenge. As you can see from the footage below, there are advantages and disadvantages to using each character, and all four turtles can combine for some sweet team-up moves. The game is still a little way off, but TMNT fans of all ages should find plenty to like about what we're seeing this early in the process.

Check out the footage below, and let us know what your favorite TMNT game was in the comments.
