Are you a fan of Dark Souls, Demon’s Souls, Dragon’s Dogma, or any of the other super hard action RPGs that hinge their difficulty on an absurd amount of trial and error? Then do we have a new PC RPG for you.

Lords of the Fallen has been revealed by Eurogamer and CI Games. A game in development for two years, the project is scheduled to release sometime next year on PCs everywhere. "It's a challenging game, action RPG, which means a lot of advanced combat," said executive producer Tomsz Gop. "When you walk through a location, and you have to fight 10 enemies, that takes around an hour."

Gop also plans to bring the game to next generation consoles but plans are still a little fuzzy in that respect. Gop also said that the game will be primarily single player, though there will be some “online-ish” elements as well. Gop drew parallels to Dark Souls, Borderlands, and even Mortal Kombat and Tekken when describing the game. Likely, he is referencing fighting games as a way to describe overcoming difficult A.I. “When you fight in Mortal Kombat, when you fight in Tekken, that's why it takes so long - Dark Souls is probably a strong reference as well. But we've done a lot of things differently. For example, we have a skill tree. I would call Borderlands here, because we're gonna have something like action skills in the game, so classes, stuff like this.”
