Bethesda Softworks released a big, fat trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online today. It's full of splashy cinematic visuals and a sense of a fully formed world -- everything we've come to expect from a new game from Bethesda and ZeniMax Online Studios. To help spur interest in the new game, Bethesda has altered superfans out there that they are taking applications for the upcoming Elder Scrolls beta.

If you are one of these superfans, you should definitely head over to the game's website and sign up for a chance to be a beta-tester. As there will likely be no shortage of interested parties, Bethesda has committed to giving "selected beta registrants," the chance to dive into the upcoming MMO that's set in the world of Tamriel.

The trailer, which is titled "Alliance," is a fully-formed cinematic video that shows off some of the content that will be inside the game. But there is no gameplay footage. If you are interested in checking that out, you should click over to their developer diary.

The Elder Scrolls Online is set for release sometime in 2013.
