While it may still officially debut at E3 2015, this sneak peak of a new Banjo-Kazooie game shown at SXSW was far from what we were expecting.

Rare, the developer of such classic games as Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark and Battletoads unveiled a new look for its Banjo-Kazooie game, but it's unfortunately not what we were hoping for. A few months ago, Microsoft exec Ken Lobb hinted that there was the possibility that we might see a new Banjo-Kazooie game someday. However, he didn't say much more than that. Although we thought the first announcement for a new game would be coming at E3 2015, Destructoid reports that there was a sneak peak of the new project that was released at SXSW.

Instead of actually premiering a trailer or gameplay teaser, Rare (now a subsidiary of Microsoft Studios) premiered a clip of a Banjo-Kazooie game where the crowd controlled Banjo and Kazooie's flying via motion controls. While this is pretty cool, it may be a bummer if it means that the new game, which hasn't been formally unveiled yet, will only be some kind of lame Kinect game. You can check out a recap of what was premiered on Twitch, (it starts at around three minutes in) although Twitch did take out the audio because of copyright laws.

For now, we will likely have to wait until E3 to see if there really will be another new Banjo-Kazooie coming out and pray that it's not some kind of silly Kinect game.
