That German magazine from last week had the down-low after all: Kano has been revealed as a playable character in Mortal Kombat X, and the Aussie assassin is deadlier than ever before. The reveal trailer seen above is two minutes and 45 seconds of Kano's killer arsenal, narrated by Mr. Mortal Kombat Ed Boon himself.

As with the other kombatants shown so far, Kano has three distinct Variations that heighten certain parts of his arsenal. The Cutthroat Variation makes Kano's eye and energy chest core glow green and gives him added and more powerful knife attacks. The Cybernetic variant give the eye and chest a red tinge and gives Kano access to laser-based attacks and other weaponry. Finally, Commando Kano turns into a bruising grappler with yellow glowing parts, giving him powerful throws and other types of grapples.

The video ends with a glimpse at Kano's X-Ray and Fatality moves, and while the X-Ray shows what happens inside a body during a knife slice for the first time ever, the Fatality makes sure that we'll never challenge Kano to a staring contest, because we won't win and he'll fry our skulls.

Mortal Kombat X launches in the first half of 2015 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
