NetherRealm Studios revealed two weird, exclusive costumes for Mortal Kombat X that you get for free from the mobile game. Also, the console versions are getting a hefty day one patch.

Let's just get this out of the way — what the hell is Johnny Cage doing dressed up as a ninja mime and Jax geared up as a farmer. You would think that after all the things that they've done for the world, they'd get some different outfits. Nevertheless, for two comical outfits, they're kind of awesome. It's a given that the world hates mimes (sorry to all you mimes out there reading this), but a ninja mime version of Johnny Cage? We'll accept that. The all-American, Special Forces' Jax Briggs never really struck us as the farmer type though. These two costumes were posted by MKX and series co-creator Ed Boon on his Twitter.

Shoryuken reports that there is a large day one patch launching along the game next week, which will address all sorts of bugs and balancing issues that NetherRealm found after the game got sent to the presses and shipped around the world. This day one patch has already been downloaded by the lucky few who were able to score an early copy of the game. Early owners of MKX are claiming that this patch weighs in at just under 2 GB, which would contain a considerable amount of content changes.

Mortal Kombat X is currently out for free on the iOS format and should be hitting Android devices soon. The console version of MKX will be launching on April 14 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will come out on June 2.
