It seems Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate has a few "links" to Nintendo, as Capcom has released a trailer announcing that equipment and weapons from The Legend of Zelda will be available in the newest installment of the Monster Hunter franchise.

This minute-long teaser features monster hunters garbed in a familiar green tunic and hood, wielding the Master Sword, Hylian Shield and Link's bow as they charge into battle against giant enemy monsters. These items must be crafted in-game, which means you're going to have to work for them, but that will make using them totally worth it.

The blog post on the Capcom-Unity website announcing the Zelda-based content also contained a vague tease: "This collaboration was announced for MH4 in Japan a while ago and we had to keep quiet... but now that the proverbial Felyne is out of the proverbial Item Pouch, let me say this: we have more special equipment like this planned for the title. Don't ask me what they are, because I can't say, but expect more news soon!"

More special equipment? Well, we remember the Chrom and Lucina gear from Monster Hunter Frontier G, so hopefully that'll show up in MH4U, but what other Nintendo-inspired items could we use to hunt monsters with? Zero Suit Samus's laser whip? The Star Rod from Kirby? Maybe we'll be able to travel quickly from monster to monster in a Mario Kart. We'll have to wait and see, but we're excited to find out.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate launches in early 2015 for the Nintendo 3DS.

The Legend of Zelda is in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and it's also in 5x5's 5 Best Video Game Myths.
