A new trailer for the Vita version of Minecraft emerged from Gamescom 2014, showing off the latest version of Notch's insanely popular building and crafting game.

The trailer will look like nothing new to the Minecraft-initiated, but it does throw in a few PlayStation-themed sights for the audience, including a red square, green triangle, blue X, red circle (or O, whatever you call it), and the Vita itself all built in the midst of the voxel Minecraft world. The trailer also highlights the Vita's multiplayer capability, which will let players seamlessly connect to each other via Wi-Fi for some tandem building and surviving.

It still amazes us how Minecraft became as popular as it is now. It's such a simple game, just building and creating a world block by block, but its universal appeal is undeniable. We can't count how many times we've been in a restauarant or a mall and watched a young child building away on his or her tablet, oblivious to the world around him. As more ways to play games emerge, so too will more ways to play Minecraft.

Minecraft for the PlayStation Vita will launch soon, as an official release date has not been announced at this time.
