Minecraft May Come to the PlayStation

PlayStation owners without a PC may soon be able to enjoy the wonder that is Minecraft according to Mojang.

In an interview with iGamer (spotted by Edge), Mojang’s lead designer of Minecraft Pocket Edition for iOS and Android Jens Bergensten discussed the possibility of Minecraft appearing on other consoles.

“Microsoft has an exclusivity deal for consoles,” said Bergensten. ”When it runs out we’ll consider Minecraft for PlayStation, but Wii U is very unlikely.”

While that's not very good news for Wii U owners, the small bit of light at the end of the PlayStation tunnel should leave Sony fans optimistic. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has proven to be a wild success, and there's no reason to think the same time of insane sales numbers wouldn't be possible on the PlayStation 3.
