Another insane sales milestone was surpassed by 4J Studios Xbox 360 port of Mojang's Minecraft, as the game has been downloaded six million times.

Back in January, 4J reported sales of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition had surpassed five million units on XBLA. Now just shy of two months later, another one million copies have been sold on the 360, with no signs of that success stopping any time soon. 4J broke the news on Twitter, but had little else to offer in the way of any title update news.

<blockquote><p>Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has now sold over SIX MILLION copies !!! <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23MinecraftXBLA">#MinecraftXBLA</a></p>&mdash; 4J Studios (@4JStudios) <a href="https://twitter.com/4JStudios/status/316638746315476992">March 26, 2013</a></blockquote>

A disc version of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition will be out April 30th, which should only help the sales numbers of the indie hit continue to grow. It's a good thing Microsoft was able to secure exclusive rights to Minecraft on consoles, as Sony's has really emerged as the go-to hot spot for new indie games in 2013. It will certainly be interesting to see just how well Minecraft can perform through the rest of the year, and whether or not any future XBLA titles can even come close to matching its success.
