New screenshots from Metro: Last Light have surfaced, showing off the gorgeously bleak and unforgiving environments or a post-apocalyptic world.

According to GamingBolt, THQ has released a few new screenshots from Metro: Last Light, the sequel to Metro 2033. And while the publisher is facing bankruptcy, its projects are still going to be completed, which is good news for those wanting to play Last Light and South Park: The Stick of Truth.

The screenshots feature the harsh locations in the game, which will have players spending a lot of time on the surface, unlike Metro 2033's focus on the subterranean tunnels. We're looking forward to grabbing some of those flamethrowers and going to town on all of the mutants that are hungry for our blood.

The game is set to release in March 2013 and will be available as a limited edition upgrade for anyone who pre-orders. Check out the screens below and tell us if you're looking forward to exploring the cruel aftermath of the world's end.
