The prologue to Big Boss' return will be a little bit cheaper on our wallets as we have found out some amazing details in regards to Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes.

Konami has just released some exclusive information in regards to Ground Zeroes and how it will connect over to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. Having Ground Zeroes data, preferably data that cleared the entire game, will bear much influence in The Phantom Pain when it arrives.

Anyone who purchases Ground Zeroes early on will have access to exclusive DLC that can be used within The Phantom Pain. An area called Mother Base will be introduced sometime in Ground Zeroes, and will play a pivotal role throughout The Phantom Pain (Mother Base should be familiar to Peace Walker fans). The exclusive DLC allows additional resources to be available for your Mother Base area. These resources will be in the form of special staff, which gives insight as to the inclusion of some base-management aspects being utilized Metal Gear Solid 5.

Prisoners of war and VIPs rescued in Ground Zeroes will be present in Mother Base in The Phantom Pain. Given Ocelot's aptitude for torture, we can't wait to see how this will turn out.

Utilizing a secondary screen feature similar to the Xbox Smart Glass system, Ground Zeroes will introduce the iDROID app, which will work similarly to Punished Snake's smart device featured in the game. This iDROID app can be used on iOS and Android systems to help show maps, play cassette tapes, read intel or summon air support. The Xbox's Smart Glass system will integrate itself with the iDROID app.

Finally, both next-gen versions of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes are receiving a price cut. Both the physical and digital versions of the Ground Zeroes for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will cost $29.99, down from the original price of $39.99. Those wishing to play Ground Zeroes on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 can buy the physical copy of Ground Zeroes for $29.99 or purchase the digital edition for $19.99. Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes will bring Big Boss back on March 18.
