Hideo Kojima has announced the release date of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and there are some foxy goodies to be had in its Day One and Collector's Editions.

During a video interview with IGN, Hideo Kojima revealed all sorts of details about Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, including its anticipated release date. We also learned what Konami has in store for its Day One and Collector's Editions. The most shocking thing Kojima revealed was that this would be his last Metal Gear Solid title (but we're sure he won't be done with the Metal Gear franchise). We also get an narrated look at Metal Gear Online (provided below).

The Day One Edition of The Phantom Pain will include a physical map and the following pieces of free DLC:

  • A Map
  • Adam-Ska Special Weapon
  • Personal Ballistic Shield (Silver)
  • Cardboard Box (Wetland)
  • Fatigues (Blue Urban Snake Costume)
  • Metal Gear Online XP Boost

Metal Gear Solid V's Collector's Edition will include the following physical goodies:

  • Half-scale Replica of Snake's Bionic Arm (!)
  • Collectible SteelBook
  • Behind-the-Scenes Documentary and Trailers Blu-Ray Disc
  • A Map
  • Exclusive Packaging

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will includeMetal Gear Online, regardless of which version of the game you buy. The Collector's Edition (for PS4 and Xbox One only) is priced at £99.99, while its standard counterparts are priced at £59.99, suggesting that The Phantom Pain's Collector's Edition will cost $99 in North America. The PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Metal Gear Solid V will debut on Sept. 1, while the Steam version of The Phantom Pain for PC will launch on Sept. 15.
