Twenty-one million votes were placed for the first round of the Madden NFL 25 Cover Vote. The easiest victories came from new school running back Adrian Peterson and running back legend Barry Sanders.

The Madden NFL 25 Cover Vote has its share of intrigue and excitement, since the finals will pit an old school NFL stud with a new school NFL star. Sanders received 95% of the overall vote in his match-up against Bears great Ron Rivera, and Peterson took 94% of the vote in his win over injury prone Oakland Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer.

The closest match-up came in the new school bracket, as Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller advanced to the second round, garnering 51% of the vote over New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz. Other stars to advance to the second round include Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, and San Francisco 49ers golden boy Colin Kaepernick.

Round two voting is open and lasts through Wednesday, March 27th. Votes can be cast on ESPN.com/MaddenVote.
