A few Gamescom screenshots for the upcoming post-apocalyptic adventure, Mad Max, have just surfaced. Let's cross our fingers for some Thunderdome action.

Mad Max will put players in the ass-kicking shoes of the eponymous hero in order to prove their mettle in the Wasteland. They'll have to craft and upgrade weapons and armor for Max and then combine them with melee, gunplay and tactical maneuvers in order to stay alive.

Players can scavenge for scraps, which can then be used to upgrade or enhance equipment, weapons and vehicles. The best part? Enemy encampments can be raided for choice scraps. You know what they say about another man's trash.

The open-world style of the Wasteland means that players will have plenty to explore. They can take on quests and side missions in order to earn resources to keep on plodding through the wastes. And if their feet get tired walking, they can always engage in some vehicular mayhem. The ultimate example of this is the Magnum Opus, the coolest combat vehicle with mounted weapons, armor and an engine that can tear through the Wasteland.

Mad Max won't arrive until next year for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, but at least we can look at a few of the screenshots now. Peep them above and below and let us know if you're ready to become a warrior of the wastes.
