The brilliantly atmospheric Limbo is headed to the PlayStation Vita, but it'll be a simple port, not taking advantage of the Vita's touchscreen capabilities. It's probably for the best. We don't want to get our fingers anywhere near those brain slugs.

It was reported earlier in the week that Limbo would be coming to the Vita, but in a recent interview with Eurogamer, Dino Patti, CEO of Playdead, said, ""We're not using any touch. We didn't feel it would suit Limbo at all. It would feel like a patch if we did it. And we really like the original experience. The Vita allows you to have the original experience."

It is nice to know that they have the integrity of their game still at heart rather than capitalizing on some gimmick. He went on to mention that adding touch controls would require rethinking whole parts of the game and that it would effect the overall outcome. They're doing extensive quality assurance on the Vita version so that Limbo will play as great as it did on the larger consoles.

The game is in good hands since it is being ported by the company that created the Little Big Planet Vita title. Limbo for the Vita is slated for release later this year.
