Matt Nava, the former art director for thatgamecompany's Flower and Journey has branched off and opened up his own studio.

As you can tell from the photo above, the studio is called Giant Squid and its creation was announced by Nava via Twitter.

It is currently comprised of Nava himself, Nicholas Clark, and Austin Wintory. Nava, as we know, was the art director for two of thatgamecompany's most popular titles and will hopefully bring us the same kind of artistic gaming experience we've come to know from his former company.

Nicholas Clark is a game designer and engineer who worked on Flow, Flower, and Journey. He'll be acting as an advisor for Giant Squid.

Austin Wintory is the studio's composer and has a Grammy nomination under his belt thanks to his work on Journey. Here's to looking forward to his amazing music in future Giant Squid games.

The studio isn't working on any projects at the moment, but they do have a blog section on the site that will hopefully be chronicling the development of any new titles. We're looking forward to seeing what Giant Squid will produce and wish them luck on their endeavors!

Visit the site here and apply for a job while you're at it! Let us know what you think about this new company in the comments section.
